Garden City Group Hopeful To Restore Historic Windsor Hotel

(westernkansasnews.com) Garden City–Its been called the “Waldorf of the Prairies”, but the Windsor Hotel which was built in 1887 has been closed to guests since 1977. There is a renewed effort to restore the Windsor through the Finney County Preservation Alliance. The group hosted tours of the historic landmark Saturday night. Don Harness is their president.

Harness believes it will take 12 to 15 million dollars to restore the Windsor Hotel. So far the Preservation Alliance has secured some funds, but they are well short of their goal. Anyone interested in helping can call (620) 275-4340.
