Buffaloes Entertain Guymon Oklahoma Tonight for Basketball Homecoming-Audio

Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – Basketball Homecoming 2013 for the Garden City Buffaloes tonight has the Guymon, Oklahoma Tigers in town for a non-conference match-up. The Garden City teams are coming off of a split last Tuesday with the Holcomb Longhorns, in which the No. 8 Lady Buffs beat their in county rival 3A No. 8 Lady Longhorns 67-54. Garden City girls Coach David Upton talks about his Lady Buffs performance in that key victory of state ranked teams and tonight’s match-up with the Lady Tigers.

For the Buffalo boys it was a different story in their contest with the Holcomb Longhorns, losing to the Horns 70-59. Garden City had difficulty in blocking Holcomb off the boards and lost the rebounding war, plus, they only received abundant scoring from one player in senior Bo Banner who produced 26 points and 7 rebounds, junior Hunter Delgado added ten. In tonight’s match-up with the Tigers of Guymon Oklahoma, the Buffs are preparing for another physical inside presence and have worked hard over the last two days in blocking out and be aggressive getting to the boards. Buffalo Coach Jacy Holloway comments on his teams loss to the Holcomb and what they will expect in tonight’s game with the Tigers.
