Love: Expects Long Legal Battle Over Dismemberment Abortion Ban

Montezuma, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It was deemed a setback by pro-life supporters when Shawnee County district judge Larry Hendricks struck down a ban on dismemberment abortions in Kansas. The author of the law State Senator Garrett Love of Montezuma stands by the importance of upholding this new legislation.

So when does life begin?

Oklahoma’s new dismemberment ban takes effect in November.

Love felt it necessary to write a law banning the dismemberment procedure because it tears apart the baby’s arms and legs. The Senator feels ultrasound and new technologies are giving younger Americans a new perspective on when life begins.

Love expects litigation over this law to potentially go all the way to the US Supreme Court.
