Season over! Free State downs GCHS Soccer in Double OT

Brittany Hoffman scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute to give Lawrence Free State a dramatic 1-0 victory over Garden City in the first round of the 6A regional tournament at Buffalo Stadium.
“We wish it would have went the other way,” Buffaloes Coach Joaquin Padilla said afterwards. “But it doesn’t always work like that.”
And Garden City (9-6-1) had their chances.
Tiffany Butler’s rocket with 15 seconds remaining in regulation sailed right. The senior had another chance in the first overtime, but passed up a shot just outside the box.
It also did not help that Jessica Adame suffered an injury in the first O.T.
