Former Governors Concerned About Justice’s Retention Vote

(westernkansasnews.com) Former Governors Mark Hayden and John Carlin have joined a group called Kansans for Fair Courts. Their goal to keep the five State Supreme Court Justices who face a retention vote this November. Governor Hayden tells us what interests are putting this issue before the voters.

Governor Carlin is concerned what might result if voters are unsuccessful in retaining these justices.

A commission would have to find replacement for whoever is not retained. The former governors feel Governor Brownback has too much power in selecting new jurists.
