Troopers say one Dodge City woman is dead following a head-on crash in Ford County

Dodge City, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – The Kansas Highway Patrol says one person is dead and three others in the hospital following an accident late Monday evening. The crash occurred just after 6:45 P.M. on 210 Road, or 6 miles north of Garnett Road in Ford County.

 

According to the crash logs, a 2014 Ram 1500 operated by Dalton Kuhlman, 24, Dodge City, was Southbound on 210 Road. A 2013 Ford Explorer driven by Juan Ramos-Ortiz, 25, Dodge City,  was Northbound on 210 Road. The Ram 1500 went left of the center lane for an unknown reason. The Ram1500 and Ford Explorer both attempted an avoidance maneuver in the same direction and collided head-on.

One passenger of the Ford Explorer was killed. Angelina Perez-Velasquez, 21, Dodge City, was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Beckwith Funeral Home. Perez-Velasquez was not wearing a seat belt according to the KHP.

Both drivers and other passengers were wearing a seatbelt and transported to Western Plains Medical Center with either minor or serious injuries.
