#NSD24 – Broncbusters Moving to the Next Level

GARDEN CITY, KS. – Multiple Broncbusters inked their letters of intent on Wednesday’s National Signing Day. Here are some of the student athletes that Garden City Community College is sending to the next level of collegiate athletics.

Keyshawn Buckley – Southern Mississippi

Buckley made his final season as a Broncbuster his highest-scoring campaign. The redshirt sophomore recorded 190 receiving yards, while catching touchdowns against Gordon’s Fine Arts & Sports Academy, Independence, and Hutchinson.

Southern Miss finished 3-9 last year, recording wins over Alcorn State, Louisiana-Monroe, and Louisiana. The Golden Eagles are a proud member of the Sun Belt Conference.

Bryce Butler – Arizona

Butler was a freak of nature in both seasons as a Broncbuster, and now moves into the ‘Power Five’ of division one football. Butler recorded 10.5 tackles for loss in his final five games as a Broncbuster, closing his Garden City career with 25.5 TFLs.

Butler joins a Wildcats unit fresh off an impressive 9-3 season, beating four ranked opponents. UA will close their season in the Alamo Bowl against No. 12 Oklahoma

J’Marion Gooch – Louisiana

Gooch was named to the Jayhawk Conference team as Honorable Mention. The freshman appeared in all 11 games for Garden City at left tackle.

The Ragin’ Cajuns finished 6-7 in 2023, qualifying for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

Gyriece Goodman – Oregon State

Goodman responded after coming back from an injury that hindered his Freshman season to become one of the Broncbusters’ standouts this last season. Goodman led Garden City in tackles, scored a touchdown against Independence, and was named to the KJCCC 2nd team defense.

The Beavers are coming off an impressive 8-4 regular season, finishing the year as the No. 19 team in the nation in the final College Football Playoff rankings. The Beavers finish their season in the Sun Bowl against No. 16 Notre Dame.

Aidan Lee – Minot State

Lee caught 11 passes in his lone season as a Broncbuster, six of which coming in conference play.

The former Cal Golden Bear joins the Beavers off a 1-10 season. Minot State is part of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in the NCAA’s division two.

Sam Ofurie – Rhode Island

Ofurie was a key piece of GCCC’s defense all season long. The linebacker posted 49 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss, including a career-best 2.5 TFLs against Butler.

Ofurie returns to the New England area, bouncing to division two’s URI. The Rams are coming off a 6-5 regular season, which included a win over No. 20 New Hampshire.

Geovanni Ribalta – Valdosta State

Ribalta hauled in 194 receiving yards in nine appearances for Garden City last season. The redshirt sophomore’s best game came against Gordon’s Fine Arts & Sports Academy, where he went for 82 yards on just three catches.

Ribalta heads to Georgia to join a Blazers team that went 12-1 in the regular season. Valdosta State lost in the quarterfinals of the NCAA division two playoffs to No. 11 Lenoir-Rhyne.
