Buffs soccer clinches spot in regional title game
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Senior Megan Martinez wasn’t about to let her first playoff game be her last. The first 40 minutes dictated that.
Martinez netted a hat trick, scoring all three Garden City goals in a 3-1 victory over Wichita South Wednesday night in the opening round of the 6A regional playoffs at Buffalo Stadium.
“My mentality was this isn’t ending now,” Martinez said afterwards. “With that, I came out extremely aggressive.”
The win puts the Buffaloes in Thursday night’s regional championship match at Derby. Game time set for 6 p.m.
