Kansas oldest journalist has died in Protection


PROTECTION, Kan. (AP) — A 102-year-old woman who may have been Kansas’ oldest newspaper columnist has died after an illness. Rodney Brown tells the Wichita Eagle that his mother, Bonnie Brown, was found dead in her apartment Saturday morning.

Brown wrote for the Protection Press and lived in Protection most of her adult life.
