YMCA of SW Kansas hires Nutrition Coach

By: Sarah Waller, Chief Marketing Officer YMCA SW Kansas

Garden City, Kan. – The YMCA of Southwest Kansas recently named Kristin Craddock Nutrition Coach of the Garden City branch.

According to CEO Chad Knight, Craddock’s extensive education in nutrition and wellness consulting, and her passion for helping others were among the deciding factors for the hiring decision.

“Kristin brings a wealth of knowledge in nutrition and wellness to our operation,” Knight said. “She will be a tremendous asset for our members who are working toward a complete approach to their health and wellness goals. We are excited to have her become a part of the YMCA team.”

The YMCA is holding two meet-and-greet events from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, and on Monday, Feb. 19. During these events, YMCA members and facility users will have the chance to visit with Kristin and learn more about her services.

Craddock, a Colorado native, graduated from North Carolina State University with a master’s degree in Nutrition. She is also a certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant with American Fitness Professionals and Associates.

Craddock lives in Scott City with her significant other and is the mother of an eight-year-old boy. She enjoys hiking, yoga, running 5K and 10K races, and camping.

“My philosophy on healthy eating is twofold,” Craddock said. “First, it should be guilt free. If you’re going to have the occasional piece of chocolate, you might as well enjoy it. Second, it should be a lifestyle, not a diet. Healthy habits are lifelong pursuits aimed to help you live longer, fuller, more enjoyable lives.”
