Fisher’s Clutch Finish Lifts Broncbusters Past Cloud County, 61–59

Garden City, KS – Garden City Community College delivered another heart-pounding finish Saturday afternoon at Conestoga Arena, as Marshea Fisher knocked down the game-winning bucket late, sealing a 61–59 victory over Cloud County and giving the sophomore her second game-winner of the season.
The Broncbusters controlled the opening quarter behind strong defensive pressure, holding Cloud County to just six points and building an 11–6 advantage. The T-Birds answered in the second, briefly grabbing momentum, but Garden City stayed composed and went into the locker room within striking distance.
The game turned into a possession-by-possession battle in the second half. Cloud County surged in the fourth quarter, scoring 21 points, but the Broncbusters answered every run. With the game on the line in the final moments, Fisher delivered once again, scoring the decisive bucket to push Garden City ahead for good.
Elektra Mjoll led all scorers with 15 points, knocking down five three-pointers off the bench. Deija Roberson added 14 points, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, while Luana Luz chipped in 11 points and four assists. Garden City’s depth proved crucial, as the Broncbuster bench outscored Cloud County 21–3.
With the win, Garden City improves to 12–3 overall and 7–3 in KJCCC play.
