Elektra’s 25 Not Enough as Broncbusters Fall at Coffeyville, 76–63

Coffeyville, KS — The Garden City Community College women’s basketball team battled through foul trouble and strong individual performances Saturday afternoon but ultimately came up short in a 76–63 road loss to Coffeyville.
The game was physical from the opening tip, with both teams navigating consistent foul trouble throughout the contest. Coffeyville set the tone early, taking a 22–14 lead after the first quarter and carrying momentum into halftime with a 41–26 advantage.
Garden City found its rhythm in the third quarter, outscoring the Red Ravens 21–20 behind a more aggressive offensive push. The Broncbusters continued to compete in the fourth, but second-chance opportunities and turnovers proved costly. Coffeyville capitalized as Garden City allowed 17 offensive rebounds and committed 17 turnovers, compared to 11 turnovers by the Red Ravens, giving the home team extra possessions in key moments.
Despite the loss, Elektra Mjoll delivered a standout performance, finishing with a game-high 25 points, knocking down five three-pointers, and going 8-for-9 at the free-throw line. She was a consistent scoring presence throughout the afternoon.
Paula Fernandez added 17 points, connecting on five triples of her own, while Marshea Fisher contributed seven points and six rebounds. Garden City finished with 32 rebounds and 15 assists, continuing to show strong ball movement in stretches.
With the loss, Garden City moves to 12–5 overall on the season.
