Garden City, KS – Garden City put together one of its most complete performances of the season Wednesday night at Conestoga Arena, pulling away early and never looking back in a 100-77 win over Fort Hays Tech Northwest.

The Broncbusters set the tone right away, jumping out to a quick lead behind aggressive defense and efficient offense. Garden City finished the night shooting a perfect 50% from the floor (36-of-72) and knocked down 11 threes, using pace, ball movement, and consistent pressure to build a 55-39 advantage at the break.

Coming out of halftime, Garden City kept its foot on the gas. The Broncbusters continued to turn defense into offense, piling up 27 points off turnovers while forcing 23 Fort Hays Tech Northwest giveaways. The result was a steady second-half surge that pushed the lead out of reach and allowed Garden City to control the final 20 minutes.

Offensively, the Broncbusters got balanced production, placing six players in double figures. Xavier Johnson led the way with 15 points, while Devonte Reed added 14 on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting night. Jamir Westry and Zaire Lott each chipped in 13, Dasean Lewis scored 11, and Lucas Kalimba finished with 10. Garden City also shared the ball well with 25 assists on 36 made baskets.

Next up, the Broncbusters hit the road to face Butler Community College on February 4th at 7:30 p.m.
