Travis Hearne promoted to Area 3 Maintenance Superintendent for District Six
The Kansas Department of Transportation recently promoted Travis Hearne as District Six Maintenance Superintendent for Area 3. He replaces Galen Ludlow, who was promoted to District Six Maintenance Manager.
Hearne has been with KDOT for nearly 29 years and began his career as an Equipment Operator Trainee in Bucklin in 1997. He received multiple promotions throughout his career with KDOT, from Equipment Operator Senior, Equipment Operator Specialist, and Subarea Supervisor, where he had served since 2010. Hearne is a lifelong Kansas resident and lives in Bucklin with his wife, Lori, and their two dogs, Diesel and Trax. They are also parents to two grown sons, Hunter and Gunnar.
“Travis’s experience has given him an in-depth knowledge of both KDOT and the transportation needs of southwest Kansas,” said District Maintenance Manager Galen Ludlow. “This is a great next step in his career, and we’re confident he will continue to excel as he steps into his new role.”
As the Area 3 Superintendent for the southwest region, Hearne will be responsible for leading maintenance activities in Ford, Hodgeman, Clark, Ness and partially Finney and Gray counties.
