According to the latest drought monitor map for Kansas as of Thursday, April 30, the drought conditions are starting to increase across western Kansas.

A majority of the region is under D2, which is a Severe Drought. Small portions in extreme southwest Kansas have been elevated to D3, which is an Extreme Drought. Light rainfall last week helped very little, and there are good chances for the region in the middle of the week.
