Lady Demon softball rolls Ulysses in double header
Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City High School softball team run ruled Ulysses Tuesday in a double header 17-0 in three innings and 12-2 in five innings. The Lady Demons have now won eight in a row.
Game one
Dodge City(12-2, 4-0) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning then piled on 12 runs in the second to end the game after 2.5 innings. Raemie Lopp(5-0) got the win on the mound giving up just one hit, striking out three and walking two.
Lopp also helped lead the way at the plate going 2-2 with 5 RBI and 3 runs. Grace Ruehle also had a big day going 2-3 with 5 RBI.
Game two
Ulysses struck first in the second game scoring two runs in the top of the first on a two RBI single from Nina Parker. Dodge would score a run in the bottom the first, then added five in the second to seize control. Raegan Lopp(6-1) got the win on the mound giving up four hits and striking out four.
At the plate Ruehle helped lead the way again for the Lady Demons going 3-4 with 2 RBI. Shalyn Turner and Maddie Kalscheur both had 2 RBI.
Dodge City will play again May 1 at Garden City(9-3, 4-0).
