Lady Beaver Tennis ends season at state

Prairie Village, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Lady Beaver tennis team knew they would be in for a tough weekend at the Class 4A State Tennis meet on Friday. Their opening day would be a tough day for the three juniors, as they saw their season end in Prairie Village at the Harmon Park Tennis complex.

In Singles, Malorie Cupp would go 0-2 on the day, falling to Grace Funk of Topeka-Hayden 7-5, 6-3. On the back side of the bracket, Cupp fell to Elise Richardson of August 9-7. Her season ended with a record of 21-11.

The Doubles team of Madison Roberts/Tatum Wells fell in their first match of the day to Jadyn Heck/Kamryn Keathley of Parsons 6-2, 6-0, and in their consolation match, they would drop it to Bri Barnett/Sloane Sims of Topeka-Hayden 9-0, ending their season at 18-14.
