Road rage incident leads to arrest of Garden City man
Garden City, Kan.–A Garden City man was arrested following a road race incident Wednesday morning.
In a release from the GCPD, this was his second arrest for similar behavior in three months. Around 8 a.m., Officers responded to a report of a road rage altercation along W. Kansas Avenue. The reporting party stated that they and another driver, identified as 31-year-old Andrew Ortiz, were involved in an incident during which Ortiz allegedly pointed a handgun at them before fleeing the area. With the assistance of the Finney County Sheriff’s Office, Officers quickly located Ortiz in the 200 block of N. 11th Street. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and Ortiz was taken into custody. Officers later recovered a lower receiver of a firearm.
Ortiz, who was arrested for a similar incident in May, was lodged in the Finney County Jail for Aggravated Assault.
There were no injuries from the incident.
