Dodge City, Kan. (GCCC Athletics Department) — The Garden City Community College women’s basketball team went punch-for-punch with the nation’s top-ranked squad Wednesday night, but No. 1 Dodge City held on for a 67–60 victory in a hard-fought KJCCC showdown.

Dodge City responded in the second quarter, making key defensive adjustments and finding their rhythm offensively to take a 32–27 advantage at halftime. The third quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading baskets and momentum swings as Garden City stayed within striking distance.
