Dodge City, Kan.–The City of Dodge City Commission Meeting on Tuesday, September 2 will include a public hearing on the proposed Common Consumption Area, along with consideration of Ordinance 3838 and Resolution 2025-30.

According to the release, the City is considering establishing a Common Consumption Area in specific locations, along with the rules and regulations that would govern its operation. The proposed area is shown in the map below. The purpose of creating a Common Consumption Area is to provide more flexibility for community events while ensuring public safety and compliance with state law.

A Common Consumption Area (CCA) is a designated location, approved by the City, where visitors can purchase alcoholic drinks from licensed establishments and then carry and enjoy them within the boundaries of the approved area. These areas operate under strict rules and regulations to promote safety, responsibility, and compliance with state regulations. Please note that this is a common practice utilized by many communities throughout the State of Kansas, as well as in other states. For more information about the Common Consumption Area (CCA), please contact the City of Dodge City at 620-225-8100, ext. 6.
