Garden City Police arrest man on chargest from multiple incidents

Garden City, Kan.–Garden City Police a man who fled from Officers during a traffic stop.

A reckless driver who fled from Officers Wednesday night was quickly arrested and charged in connection with multiple incidents. Shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Officers attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of Fleming and Fulton Streets after observing a vehicle driving recklessly.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Lakota Reyes, refused to stop and continued eastbound at a high rate of speed. Officers later located Reyes in the 4100 block of E. US Highway 50 and took him into custody. While in custody, Reyes became combative with police and assaulted an Officer. He was also identified as the suspect of a criminal damage incident reported earlier that evening that was later classified as stalking.

Reyes was lodged in the Finney County Jail on charges stemming from the incidents, including Flee and Elude, Interference LEO, Reckless Driving, Stalking, Violation of a Protection from Abuse Order, and Battery LEO.
