This week kicks off the 2025 football season. Only one area team is in the top five, with several others being considered.

Wichita County is ranked No. 1 in 8-Man Division I, as they will have a big test to open the season against Colorado powerhouse Haxtun on Friday. Others outside the rankings include Holcomb, Hugoton and Scott City in 3A, Kinsley and Sublette in 8-Man I, Hodgeman County and Minneola in 8-Man II, and Ingalls in 6-Man.
