Scott City tennis looking for more state qualifiers

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After qualifying a doubles team for state a year ago, the Scott City Lady Beaver tennis team is looking to take more to state this year.

In total, four of the six varsity players return from last years squad, including the senior duo of Finley Edwards/Kaylee Felker, who qualified for the Class 4A state meet. Also returning are senior Marisa Alvarado and junior Shelby Massaglia. In total, there are 14 players that make up of the team this year.

Amy Felker returns for her second year as head coach, while Ali Cline is in her first season as an assistant.

It’s a quick start to the season, as the Lady Beavers will start competition on August 28, with Regionals in the second weekend of October.
