Sub-State basketball games postponed to Thursday, championship games to Saturday

With the potential threat of blizzard conditions and strong winds on Tuesday, several games involving area schools that were scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed to Saturday.

Starting with Class 4A Boys, Hugoton’s game at Clay Center has been postponed to Thursday, and Ulysses at McPherson has been moved to Thursday as well. The winners will still play on Friday.

The Class 3A Girls, Scott City Region and Class 2A Boys, Sublette Region have had their schedule this week altered.

For the Scott City Region, the girls games consisting of Colby hosting Russell, Goodland at Ellsworth, Holcomb hosting Scott City, and Beloit at Southwestern Heights will be moved to Thursday.

In the Sublette Region, the boys games of Medicine Lodge hosting Sterling, Stanton County at Sylvan-Lucas Unified, Syracuse hosting Ellinwood and Plainville hosting Hoxie will be moved to Thursday.

Games for both regions on Wednesday will be played as scheduled.

The schedules have been altered to move all sub-state championship games to Saturday. In Scott City, the championship games for the girls will be played at 1 and 2:30 pm, followed by the boys title games at 5 and 6:30 pm. At Sublette, the boys sub-state championship games will be played at 1 and 2:30 pm, followed by the girls championship games at 5 and 6:30 pm.
