Tonganoxie boys take home Class 4A Boys state title; Seven area wrestlers medal

Salina, Kan.(westernkansasnews.com)–It was a fight between four schools heading into Saturday’s competition in the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament at Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina. The Chieftains of Tonganoxie would have a big day, as they took control and won the state title, with Rose Hill coming in second.

Among the area wrestlers, Scott City placed three, with Uli Armendariz sixth at 106, Blaze Gossman fourth at 165 and Easton Eisenhour fourth at 190. Hugoton medaled two as Isaiah Peachey at 113 and Von Grubbs at 175 both placed sixth. Holcomb’s Haegen Hartman was fourth at 138, and Jaxsen Salinas from Ulysses was fourth at 150. Scott City was the highest finisher among the area schools, placing 11th overall.
