Two injured in Ford County accident

Ford County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Two people were injured after they rear ended a semi and trailer Wednesday afternoon, just before 1:15 p.m. in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that a 2005 Lincoln Town Car driven by 54-year-old Claudia Levario-Santiago of Dodge City was eastbound on U.S. Highway 54 at mile marker 83.8, when she rear ended a 2024 Peterbilt Semi driven by 61-year-old Alan Johnson of La Junta, CO. The Levario-Santiago vehicle would come to rest in the eastbound ditch facing southeast.

Levario-Santiago and passenger, 26-year-old Jonathan Salcedo of Texhoma, Texas, were taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Dodge City for suspected serious injuries. Johnson was uninjured.

According to the KHP report, Levario-Santiago and Salcedo were wearing seatbelts, while Johnson wasn’t.
