USD 457 Board of Education Meeting Recap January 29, 2026

Garden City Public Schools Board of Education met during a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The meeting was held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street. 

The Board approved the following items during the meeting. They include minutes of the January 12, 2026, regular meeting, January 15, 2026, Special Meeting, and January 16, 2026, Special Meeting.  Accounts Payable with all major accounts containing adequate balances to meet current obligations. Personnel certified and classified actions.

Also approved under the consent agenda were new courses from the Curriculum Council: New Course offering for GCHS – Drama Stagecraft (non-CTE). Adding additional credit to the existing GCHS Course. New Garden City Community College Offerings (not related to CTE). New Garden City Community College Offerings (related to CTE). New GCHS CTE Course Offerings. The Early Childhood Curriculum Adoption. Garfield Early Childhood Center HVAC. Florence Wilson Elementary School Roofing Projects. Georgia Matthews Elementary School Roofing Projects. Board of Education Policy Updates.

Under unfinished business, they approved the ELA Curriculum Adoption.

The next meeting of the Board of Education will be on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Board Meeting Room at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming St., Garden City, Kansas.
