Kansas City, Mo. (westernkansasnews.com)–Coco Crisp and Yoenis Cespedes each hit a solo home run in the sixth and seventh innings to provide enough offense for the Oakland A’s, as they avoided a sweep with 3-0 win over the Kansas City Royals Thursday night. Oakland added another run in the eighth inning as Jemile Weeks drove in Derek Norris. Luke Hochevar gave up all three runs in seven-plus innings, as he has continued to improve his innings pitched. Kansas City will begin a weekend series with the American League Central leaders in the Chicago White Sox. Luis Mendoza is projected to start for the Royals, while Chris Sale will take the mound for the White Sox in a 7:10 start at Kaufman Stadium.
