Albert Joseph “Joe” Gosch was born on October 1, 1928 in Colorado Springs, Colorado the son of Albert & Edith Faye (Nolte) Gosch. He passed from this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas at the age of 85.

Joe grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and attended schools there. On December 28, 1947, he married Donna Grace Dobbie. To this union was born 8 children. Joe worked for Colorado Interstate Gas, Co. for 42 years. He retired in 1989 as Operations Superintendent. He has lived in Lakin, Kansas since 1972. Joe enjoyed woodworking, dancing, yard work, and telling stories. He was involved in various community and civic organizations.

Survivors include five daughters Mary & Mike Lochmann of Murfreesboro, Tn., Gretchen & Jack Conger of Christiana, Tn., Catherine & Jerry Kammerer of Yukon, Ok., Lizabeth & Terry Lewis of Elkhart, Ks., & D.J. Richmeier of Garden City, Ks.; two sons Don & Felicia Gosch of San Angelo, Tx., & Mark & Maryann Gosch of Garden City, Ks.; a brother Thomas & Nola Gosch of Colorado Springs, Co.; a sister Patricia & Johnny Watson of El Paso, Tx.; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Joe is preceded in death by parents; a son Albert Joseph “Joey” Gosch II; a granddaughter Shannon Ochoa; a grandson Mathew Timothy Gosch; and two sisters Ruth Ann Barbeau, and Mary Friel.

Visitation: Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 08, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 09, 2013 at Lakin Wesleyan Church in Lakin, Kansas with Pastors Mark & Marcelle Hamel officiating.

Interment: Lakin Cemetery.

The family requests memorials given to the Lakin PRIDE Committee in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
