City to Decide on Whether Builders Can Resume Construction

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Friday morning the Garden City Commission has called for a special meeting on whether Casco Engineering needs to install a sprinkler system for duplexes currently under construction at the 200 block of College Drive.  Building codes and international codes seem to be at odds.  City Manager Matt Allen says now the argument has reached a tipping point.

Allen says the city commission are the only ones who can waive meeting international code.  For now construction is on hold.
