Lady Buffs Golf finishes 7th at State, Lady Demons 12th

Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The girls 6A State Golf Championship was held at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City on Monday. The Garden City lady buffs finished 7th in the team standings with a 379, while Dodge City finished 12th with a 434.  Topeka Washburn Rural won the State Championship with a 327.

Leading the way for Garden City was sophomore Alyssa McMillen who placed 9th shooting an 83 and then winning a three person playoff hold to break a tie. Elena Lemke shot a 93, Morgan Cabral shot a 98 and Kaylee Keller a 105.

Senior Chesney Moore led the lady Red Demons shooting a season best 89 and placing 20th. Olivia Gregg shot a 113, Breanna Galindo a 114 and Nicole Hall and Ella Friess shot 118.

Junior Mia Tovkach of Gardner-Edgerton won the State Championship shooting a 72 even par.
