13 years definitely worth the wait; Dighton pulls out upset

Fowler, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-The (6-4) Dighton Hornets made their 1st appearance in the eight man football playoffs since 2000 and won on the road at (7-3) Fowler 54-6.  

The Hornets scored the game’s 1st 32 points and Senior Isaac Alinor rushed for five touchdowns including three in the second half for Dighton.  Fowler’s senior quarterback Taylin Bird threw for 32 touchdowns this season was limited to one score late in the first half on a two yard strike to wide receiver Dylan Duesing.  

Dighton has won five of their last six games entering Saturday’s regional while Fowler had their six game winning streak end with last night’s loss.
