Man Shot by Officers in Hugoton After Leading Police on Chase

Hugoton, KS (westernkansasnews.com) There are reports that Saturday night a 36 year old man was shot by Hugoton Police officers after a high speed chase that ended two miles Southwest of Moscow.  

The man has been identified as 36 year old Homero Baeza.  Officers were dispatch to a home after a domestic violence call.  Baeza reportedly left the scene and then returned which prompted another chase.  During the altercation police say Baeza attempted to strike one of the officers with his car.

Baeza has been taken by helicopter to St. Catherine in Garden City where he is in stable condition.  The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into what led to shooting the suspect.  The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
