Unexpected Announcement: Coffey Reacts to Being Named State Teacher of the Year
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It is the second straight year Dodge City High School has laid claim to the state teacher of the year award. For Justin Coffey it came as a complete surprise when his name was announced.
Coffey has done his best to bring the world of mathematics alive. He did this by having students make their own t-shirts.
Coffey is also the head wrestling coach with Comanche Middle School. As a coach, he and his team gave back through a special program.
Last year’s winner of the state teacher of the year award was DCHS Biology teacher Shannon Ralph.
