Division II bound; Linenberger signs with Northwest Missouri State

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After playing against some of the best competition in the junior college ranks for the last two seasons at Garden City Community College, Taylor Linenberger will be making the move to the Division II level, after signing her letter of intent with Northwest Missouri State. The announcement was made Wednesday in the Hall of Fame room at the Perryman Athletic Complex with Head Coach Jacquelynne Matula and Assistant Coach Daria Winckler on each side of her, along with her parents Jeff and Marla Linenberger, Lady Broncbuster Volleyball teammates, and Garden City Community College staff.

Linenberger was a two-year starter for the Lady Busters, playing middle blocker and outside hitter. In 2015, she led Garden City with 396 kills, while piling up 24 solo blocks and serving up 30 aces. Her efforts led to an All-KJCCC Second Team Outside Hitter honor for a second straight year. Linenberger chose Northwest Missouri State over Emporia State, and several other schools.

Northwest Missouri State plays in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association, that includes many Kansas Schools such as Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Pittsburg State and Washburn. The Lady Bearcats finished the 2015 season at 15-14, finishing seventh in the ever-tough MIAA. They are under the direction of Amy Woerth, who wrapped up her fourth season in Maryville, Missouri. Linenberger will be majoring in biochemical sciences.
