Next Court Hearing For Banda Push Back to July

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The next time leading medical marijuana advocate Shona Banda will be in a courtroom won’t be well into the summer. Banda’s defense attorney Sarah Swain made a request for continuance Monday before Chief District Judge Wendell Wurst in a Finney County courtroom. The request was approved pushing the proceedings back until July 27.

Swain says she needs time to gather up expert testimony and information on the search of Banda’s home plus interrogation of Banda’s then 11 year old son, which called into question a violation of her client’s fourth amendment rights.

Banda is facing charges for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and child endangerment charges.
