Decision Rests with Student on Value of Post-Secondary Education

The new state commissioner on education Dr. Randy Watson is focusing on a more individual approach encouraging career exploration in some fields where education beyond high school is not required, if that’s what a student wants.

GCCC President Doctor Herbert Swender feels seeking a higher education can have many benefits beyond future job placement.

As for the tremendous debt students are now incurring, community college offers access while keeping affordability.

Swender says 75 percent of jobs require a post secondary education.
