Earl Lowry Jr., 88, died August 7, 2016 at Hays Medical Center. He was born on December 13, 1927 in Wichita, the son of Eva (Arthur) Simmons.

Earl served in World War II on the battleship the USS Warrick. On August 24, 1952, Earl married Margaret L. Edwards in Iola. She preceded him in death . Earl worked for Cessna Aircraft Company in Hutchinson. In 1971, they moved to Dodge City where he and his wife owned and operated Larry’s Mower Service until his death.

Earl is survived by his children, Vernon Jay Lowry and wife Cindy of Dodge City, Virginia Rose Bush and husband Jerry of Ridgefield, Washington, Catherine Johnson and husband Jack of Normalville, Pennsylvania, and Jacqueline Foskhul and husband James of Dodge City; one sister, Virginia Williams of Dodge City; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside memorial service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City on Monday August 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
