Larry Cofer, 65, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at Western Plains Medical Complex. 

He was born January 16, 1951 at Spearville, the son of Robert E. and Albena Pauline (Millershaski) Cofer. He was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Ensign High School. He owned and operated Cofer Sales in Dodge City for most of his life, retiring in 2003. He loved to hunt, golf and fish. 

Survivors include: his son, Doug Cofer and wife Kristi, Cimarron; his daughter, Michelle Swisher and husband Don, Inman, Kansas; a sister, Barbara Lawrence and husband Gregg, Minneola; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Kiebl, Kassandra Swisher, Daniel Swisher, Anna Cofer, Isabella Cofer and Jaxon Cofer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Cofer. 

A come and go gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2016 at I Don’t Care Family Restaurant & Sports Bar, 1510 W. Spruce St., Dodge City. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. 

The family suggests memorials to the Minneola District Hospital in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
