Pedestrian Killed in Accident; Police on Lookout for Driver

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Police are asking for the public’s help to find the driver responsible for a hit and run accident that killed a pedestrian around 6:45 Saturday night on the 700 block of W. Kansas near Five Points.  When officers arrived the victim was already dead.

The woman who was hit has been identified as 80 year old Maria Leonarda Macias De Ubiarco.  The car involved was a silver or light colored PT Cruiser.  Anyone with information is asked to call police at (620) 276-1300 or crime stoppers tip line at (620) 275-7807.

Garden City Police say they have found the suspect and know the person’s location.  They plan to have further information in the next several days.
