Felts: TPP Pullout Not Surprising Affects on Ag Are Unknown

(westernkansasnews.com) One of the first actions taken by the new Trump Administration was pulling the US out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Kansas Farm Bureau President Richard Felts had a feeling this move was imminent.

Felts believes this goes to the basic philosophy of the new administration that entering into one agreement with 13 countries is not the way to get the best terms for the US.

The agreement can still be made, but would likely come with each individual country. What are the impacts for AG.  Felts says unknown for now.

Felts believes AG won under TPP, but that may not be the only trade deal on the chopping block.

Felts is confident that President Trump knows the strength of American Agriculture and will do all he can to help farmers sell their products overseas.
