Buffalo girls soccer drops season opener
Goddard, KS-The Garden City High School girls soccer team lost their season opener to Goddard, 3-2 in the first round of the Goddard Invitational on Monday.
The Lions scored first on Rylee Veach’s goal in the 15th minute of the contest. The Buffaloes grabbed the equalizer seven minutes later when Abby Jarmer setup Haily Enriquez for the score.
The match remained tied until 12 minutes into the second half when the Lions regained the advantage on Veach’s second goal. Kinsey Logan added a score in the 62nd minute for a 3-1 lead.
The Buffaloes got back in it on McKaylee Longoria’s goal with 15 minutes to spare but did not score again.
With the loss, Garden City moved into the consolation side of the bracket where they will play Buhler, Tuesday at 5 p.m.
