Ark River Water Festival Planned At Intermediate Centers

The Ark River Water Festival will be held on April 23rd and 24th. The festival is a one-day workshop that focuses on all aspects of water. From general water quality issues to the effects that water has on the environment and how to conserve and use this valuable resource.

Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center students along with 5th and 6th graders from Deerfield, Ingalls, Jennie Barker Elementary, St. Dominic, and St. Mary will participate in the festival activities at the school on Monday, April 23rd. Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center students along with 5th and 6th graders from Cimarron, Lakin, Montezuma, and Plymell Elementary will participate in the festival activities at the school on Tuesday, April 24th.

The Ark River Water Festival educates approximately 1,500 students during the two-day event. The festival is the largest educational water festival in the state of Kansas.
