SCHS Cheer squad working to showcase their talents

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–You see them on the sideline on a Friday night at football game, on the baseline at a basketball game, and even mat side at wrestling leading cheers to pump the teams up.

The Scott City Lady Beaver Cheer squad is poised to show off their skills this year with additional performances and new stunts. This year, they have had additional practices to tune up for the football season in two weeks, and perform their talents by the first football game. Their goal is also to compete in the KSHSAA Game Day Spirit Showcase on Saturday, November 23 in Topeka. This will be the third year KSHSAA has sponsored a spirit showcase, that is open to any cheer teams in the state.

Around 10 cheerleaders make up of the 2019-20 team, with five of them being seniors.

Cozetta O’Dea is in her second year as the cheer sponsor.
