Scott City wrestling defeats Cimarron

Cimarron, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–In their final dual before regionals, Scott City and Cimarron met up on the mat Thursday night in Cimarron. It would be the Beavers who would dominate the dual in a 54-12 triumph. 

The dual also featured wrestlers from the Scott City Wrestling Club and Gray County Wrestling Club, with wrestlers ranging from six and under to 12 and under from both sides. There were nine matches between the two youth clubs that saw a split which included two Gray County Wrestling Club kids matching up. 

At the high school level, Scott City would win nine of the 11 weight classes with a wrestler listed, as the teams were open at 126, 165 and 285. 

Scott City will compete at the Class 4A Regional in McPherson on Saturday, February 18, while Cimarron heads to Larned for the Class 3-2-1A Regional meet the same day.
