Area teams in preseason KBCA rankings
With the high school basketball season upon us, the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association released their preseason rankings on Tuesday. There are several area schools listed in the rankings.
Starting with the girls, Wichita County is ranked fifth in Class 2A, following a trip to state last year, while South Gray is fourth in 1A, Division 1 and in Class 1A, Division 2, Buckin is ranked third and Ingalls 10th.
On the boys side, defending 4A champion Hugoton is the top team in the preseason rankings, while Meade checks in in Class 2A at sixth. South Gray is the top team in the preseason rankings in Class 1A Division 1, that also sees Kinsley at ninth. In 1A, Division 2, two-time champion Greeley County is third, Dighton is eighth and Bucklin is ninth.
