Scott City track competes well at Pratt, tennis 4th at Great Bend

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–As the spring season continues on, the Scott City track & field teams made their way to Pratt on Friday, and tennis had to fight the windy conditions in Great Bend on Saturday.

Starting off with Friday’s results in Track & Field, the Scott City boys rallied late to edge McPherson at the Pratt Invitational, while the girls finished fourth.

Varsity will compete at the Smoky Valley Invitational this Friday, before the Scott City Relays on Tuesday, April 16. 

On Saturday, the boys tennis team made the trip to Great Bend for the Great Bend Invitational. With some alterations to the regular varisty lineup, the Beavers would finish in fourth place as a team. Winning for Scott City was Sage Stoecklein at No. 2 Singles, as well as the No. 2 Doubles team of Houston Frank/Brody Strine. Aydon Presson at No. 1 Singles was fifth, and the No. 1 Doubles team of Kade Bonville/Dante Franco placed seventh. Ellinwood, Hays and Great Bend were the top three teams. 

Up next for the varsity is the Ellsworth Invitational on Thursday.
