Ulysses Police Department conducts investigation at Kepley Middle School
Ulysses, Kan.–Just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the Ulysses Police Department received a report from USD 214 Kepley Middle School officials. School officials reported receiving information from a student about a possible firearm being located within the school. In response, multiple officers were immediately dispatched to the school to investigate the report.
During the investigation, approximately 20 interviews were conducted with students and staff, as well as a search of the area. Based on the gathered information, it was determined that there was no firearm located in the school and there was no active threat to students or faculty.
The Police Deparment thanks the USD 214 staff and students for their cooperation and professionalism during the investigation. Their assistance was instrumental in ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
