Deerfield man dies in rural Kearny County accident

Kearny County, Kan.–A Deerfield man died as the result of a two-vehcile accident just before 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon in Kearny County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that a 2006 Hummer H3 driven by 31-year-old Dylan C. Knoll of Holcomb, was eastbound on Road 250 about six miles north of U.S. Highway 50, when he failed to yield at the stop sign at Road AA, and collided with a northbound 2004 Ford F150 pickup driven by 32-year-old Dakota J. Mcinnis of Deerifeld. The impact would cause both vehicles to roll, as Mcinnis was ejected from the pickup.

Mcinnis was pronounced dead at the scene, and was transported to Garnand Funeral home. Knoll was taken to Wesley Medical Center for his injuries. A 17-year-old male was a passenger in the Knoll vehicle, and was transported to Kearny County Hospital

According to the KHP report, Mcinnis was not wearing a seatbeld, while Knoll and the passenger in his vehicle were.
