Syracuse man injured in Kearny County accident

Kearny Co, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Syracuse man was injured early Friday morning just after 6 a.m. in a two-vehicle accident in Kearny County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol Reports that a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by 27-year-old Joel Antonio Martinez Garcia was eastbound on U.S. Highway 50 at County Road E and U.S. Highway 50, when he went left of center and crashed into the front left quarter of a 2023 Peterbuilt Semi driven by 31-year-old Ricardo Armando Cano of Lakin.

Garcia was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City for suspected serious injuries, while Cano was uninjured.

According to the KHP report, Garcia was not wearing a seatelt, while Cano was.
